A QR code for event registration that turns into the schedule on the day

A QR code for event registration should be dynamic, so the same poster can open sign-ups now and the schedule on the day. Set a date rule for each stage of the event, and the printed QR code moves on by itself.

If the venue or the link changes after the posters go up, you update the destination and leave the posters where they are.

The dates are only an example. Each stage switches on by itself, and you can move a date at any time.

Event details change after the posters are up

Speakers drop out, rooms move and registration links get replaced. With an ordinary QR code, each change means reprinting or covering the poster with a sticker, and a sticker over a QR code looks suspicious.

A poster with a fixed job also stops being useful the moment registration closes, even though it stays on the wall for weeks.

Set it up in three steps

  1. 1

    Link your registration page

Point the QR code at the sign-up page on your ticketing tool or form. HueQR doesn't sell tickets, it sends people to wherever you do.

  2. 2

    Plan the stages

Add a date range rule for each stage: registration, the event days, and the week after.

  3. 3

    Track each location

Give each poster spot its own QR code, like Library or Main Street, and see which places actually bring people in.

Posters, badges and screens

On a poster read from two metres away, make the QR code at least 20 cm wide, and add a line saying what it opens, like Scan to register. On a projector slide, leave it up long enough for people to get their phones out.

Ask your printer for an SVG or PDF source, so the QR code stays sharp at any size.

Questions

Can this scan tickets at the door?

No. HueQR isn't a check-in tool, so it can't validate tickets. Use your ticketing tool for entry.

Can I make a different QR code for each poster location?

Yes, and it's the best way to compare locations. Bulk upload makes that quick if you have lots of them.

What if the event is postponed?

Change the dates on your rules and update the destination. The posters already printed keep working.

Print it once, and keep it working

If you cancel, your QR codes keep redirecting for 14 days. Keep-alive keeps up to 10 of them on for good. A lapsed code shows a clean paused page, never an ad, and if HueQR ever closes you get 12 months' notice and a full export.
